Dionysus Theatre will be holding auditions for “Wait Until Dark”on Wednesday, July 14th from 7-9:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 18th from 2-5 p.m. at our location: 5601 S. Braeswood, Houston, Texas 77096 (Joe Frank Theatre). We are looking for 6 men and 1 girl for this show. The roles are as follows: Mike Talman – 25-35 Sgt.Carlino – 25-35 Harry Roat, Jr – 30’s Sam Hendrix- 25-35 Gloria – 10-12 Policemen – 20’s up Synopsis of show: A sinister con man, Roat, and two ex-convicts, Mike and Carlino, are about to meet their match. They have traced the location of a mysterious doll, which they are much interested in, to the GreenwichVillage apartment of Sam Hendrix and his wife,Susy who is blind. Sam had been persuaded by a strange woman to tranpsort the doll across the Canadian border., not knowing that sewn inside were several grains of heroin. When the doll is lost, partners double crossed, innocent people accused of murder : a deadly game of cat and mouse ensues between Susy and Roat and when darkness falls, Susy truly sees the how the game will end. Actors are paid a stipend. SCRIPT SUBMISSIONS Dionysus Theatre in Houston, Texas currently seeks script submissions for its 2010-2011 season for their February New Voices slot. Dionysus is a unique non-profit, non-sectarian organization bringing the theater experience to those with disabilities as well as the able-bodied. Dionysus Theatre will select a play that is relevant and well-written and ready to be produced in February 2011. Dionysus Theatre is only interested in work which is written by or about people with disabilities.Please send letter of inquiry, brief bio along with a synopsis and a 10-page selection from the script. If the material interests us, we will contact you with a request for the complete script.
