THE COMPANY

Many actors throughout the community  have graced our stage in the past twelve  years. They come to Dionysus for the quality of the productions. They come back for the friendships, strong bonds and learning lessons they receive by working together. These are some of the actors who have helped us create the most unique theater in Texas.

Ana Calvo
Ana is one of the heavy hitters in the veteran line up of Dionysus Theatre. If you looked up the definition of perserverance, Ana's name would be next to it. She's one of those special people who never gives up and always looks to the future, Ana is a social worker at Shriners Hospital, chairperson on the Commmission of People with Disability, and this year was crowned, "Miss Wheelchair Texas." Ana has performed in all the original shows written in Dionysus and went to the Kennedy Center. She was the lead in And They Dance Real Slow in Jackson, and  was in Violet, Seussical and is one of the popular performers in the touring troupe.

Marquia Banks
Marquia has been a member of the Dionysus Theatre family for 10 years. She has performed in the originally written shows, Love is a Disability, Yada, Yada Yada That's What I'm Saying, Hanuramakwanzamas and Code Red White and Blue: An American Tapestry. She has also performed as Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, Voices of the Prairie, and is involved in the touring troupe. Although blind from birth, she opens many people's eyes with her beautiful angelic voice and positive attitude toward life. She is currently studying to become a physical therapist assistant.

Lori Evans
Lori is  veteran in Dionysus Theatre. She has performed in all the original plays, was Snoopy in Charlie Brown, young Violet in Violet, the maid in You Can't Take it With You, and is involved in both the touring and youth theatre troupes. Lori's sense of humor, wondeful outlook on life and creativity are  the cornerstones of Dionysus Theatre. She graduated from the University of Houston cum laude in psychology.

Chad Biery

Chad was a company member for three years until he decided to attend law school. He is legally blind and wants to become an advocate for people with disabilities. Chad was in the original shows, went to the Kennedy Center with Dionysus, and was Charlie Brown in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. He likes to tell incoming actors this piece of advice: "Dionysus Theatre helped me accept who I am so I can go on and help others create a better life. Now it's your responsibility to help this mission carry on. We are counting on you." He'll make quite a lawyer!

Greg Roberts
In spite of the  many obstacles in Greg's life that he has overcome, he is the most vocal cheerleader in Dionysus. His contagious smile and open heart truly win over audiences and actors alike. He has been involved in all the original shows, in  Violet, You Cant Take It With You and with  the touring troupe throughout the past ten years. Greg enjoys entertaining and educating people through the Dionysus experience. He is currently in college studying communications.

Michael Iovine

Michael is new to Dionysus Theatre. Like the actors here, he gives 110% of his energy and heart. He is a recent graduate of Cinco Ranch High School, where he was on the junior varsity swim team. Michael was in You Can’t Take It with You, Stolen Kisses and other Just Desserts, and The Pirates of Penzance. As for being on-stage, he says he’s living his dream!

Jayson was in Seussical, You Can’t Take It with You, Stolen Kisses, The Pirates of Penzance, and in Aesop’s Funny Fables for the Youth Theatre. Jayson loves music, and  he feels "uplifted" through song and ready to meet any challenge that comes his way. Jayson says the theater changed his life and changed the way people look at him now. Now, thats empowerment!

Noriann Dogium

Noriann was discovered through the theater arts class.  Her upbeat personality and willingness to learn earned her  a spot in the resident company. She told the cast that the Dionysus experience allowed her to label herself talented." Her first show was The Pirates of Penzance as the daughter to the Major General, but it won't be her last!

Persephone Williams

Persephone was in the original show, Love is a Disability that spawned what is now Dionysus Theatre over ten years ago.
